Jo-Ann Roets | Registered Dietitian
The main force behind Eat Drink Health is Jo-Ann Roets. She qualified as a Registered Dietitian at the University of Stellenbosch in 2006, and after 10 years of gaining valuable experience in the UK she started her own practice in Durbanville, South Africa. Jo-Ann divides her time between her clients at her home practice and spending time at a local private hospital in ICU managing the nutritional needs of patients in the critical care setting.
With today’s fast-paced, dynamic and changeable world, Jo-Ann offers her services face to face, or virtually, in the comfort of your own space.
Whether you’re seeking help with weight loss, hormonal balancing, diabetes, fertility nutrition, sports nutrition, or disease prevention, each client is individually evaluated and provided with a well-researched and comprehensive plan they can follow for the rest of their lives.
Eat well, drink well, be healthy!
Jo-Ann is highly skilled at assisting you with making the changes you need to improve your health or performance. She believes nutrition requires individualisation and therefore focus on helping clients to find a plan that works for their body and lifestyle. With so many confusing, and often conflicting health messages out there, she assures her clients to feel confident that they will get the best evidence-based knowledge from her.
“I’ve got specialist interests in working with adults with lifestyle diseases, neuro-disabilities, hormonal imbalances and obesity. My aim is to empower individuals with the knowledge to use food as a tool to achieve long term goals and optimal health.”
You may already have tried a low carb diet, high protein diet, cutting out carbohydrates altogether, and many other weight-loss diets. But the most effective diet for weight loss is one designed specifically for you by a qualified dietitian. Instilling healthy habits takes time, and practice, patients and perseverance. There are no quick fixes. For some, it could take weeks; others several months, or even years. Even as a dietitian I am still learning. I feel nutrition is a constant progression, which is not always linear. This is one reason why I encourage follow up appointments for the journey.
